Thanks for the honoulable Guesbook post and congratulations on the marriage. I am not an expert in marriage but I can comment that I reported my marriage to my brides embassy in Berlin, sending her passport, an original of the marriage certificate. They issued a "Report of Marriage" certificate and made an entry in here passport about it, name change helped too. That took only 2 weeks and we presented the papers at our city hall (Rathaus) were my new wife got entered as a temporary resident (2 years). After two years she passed an integration and german language course and now has permanent residenz status.
