Narita City Excursion
Posted: 2003-05-20 07:21 PM
Hi Francine:
At the front of New Tokyo International, there will be buses that make the 15 or so minute drive to the Narita City Railway Station (I forget the price). The buses run to and from the airport about every 40 minutes or so, but on the return trip you have to go through a security checkpoint at the airport entrance, which can add an extra 15 minutes to your return transit time. As I recall, the train ride into Tokyo takes about 90 minutes (into Tokyo Station, as I recall), so that may not give you all that much time in Tokyo. With limited time, Narita gives you a good taste of Japan, especially with the fairly short walk to Narita-San Temple and good restaurants nearby. I think the rec.travel.asia news group (through www.google.com) may have some related postings that my be helpful. Good luck. USC
