David,
I like the tram rail. The straight line guides my eyes to the bikes. I have never lost my bike and have often parked it in a similar place. In a way you just remember where you put it.

At the moment there is construction work at this place. They are building a south - north connection under ground. Will be finished by 2008, and is way may expensive than originally estimated

Great 4* David, but why crop the picture to a non-standard format like hiding a blup rather than some also off the bottom. Professionals would laugh! Let us try be semi-proffesional?

davidx - Apr, 05 2006 09:04am
Rudi's question: there was some stuff to the left that spoiled the picture but I didn't want to sacrifice any of the railway. I don't like the shape myself though. Can I square the circle?

farnaz - Apr, 05 2006 10:04am
this picture is interesting!

rangutan - Apr, 05 2006 11:04pm
Yes David, just trim the same percentage from the bottom as you did from the side, around 30%

marianne - Apr, 05 2006 11:04pm
David,
If you trim the bottom, you will loose part of the track, which Imn my opinion is a good eye catcher, besides typical of Amsterdam

rangutan - Apr, 06 2006 04:04am
David/Marianne then trim 40% off the right to exclude the disturbing blue pole too & make a portrait format. EXACTLY square pictures are also OK, Poloroid, Hasselblatt & other classics use it.

marianne - Apr, 06 2006 05:04am
Rudi,
That's a good solutuion, get rid of the blue pole.

rangutan - Apr, 06 2006 05:04am
I don't like the dove on the track, should we trim that too? :-)

marianne - Apr, 06 2006 05:04am
Rudi,
I don't think so, the pigeon makes the rails more 'lively', more real, especially because there are (too) many of them near the Central Station

davidx - Apr, 06 2006 09:04am
Even I could handle getting rid of the dove without cropping - but I quite like it.

:-) = meant with a smile, just joking or take it on the lighter side we dont want to end up with a 2"x 4" do we :-)
