Wild Boar Fell is near to Kirkby Stephen, west of the A6259 to Garsdale Head. It is technically in Cumbria, having previously been in the now defunct County of Westmoreland. However, geographically there would have been a good case for it to be included in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
You might think it gains from that omission however, since it is far less ruined by overwalking than the better known Three Peaks of the Park. it is not dissimilar to what is arguably the most interesting and shapely of these, Ingleborough.
