Hi Eckhard,
welcome to GLOBOsapiens! I just had a look at your 'Alaska-pictures' - and suddenly all my memories came back: We visited friends in Alaska in Summer 2003 and were absolutely fascinated. One of the highlights were the whales we saw near Valdez... I wrote a short report about that trip (if you are interested: http://www.globosapiens.net/travel-information/Fairbanks-1446.html ).
Well, would be nice to read about your experiences and to see some more pictures.
