El Mirador Basin Preserve - Guatemala, Petén
By 1pm we had hiked to the next large Mayan city in the loop, Nakbe. It was surreal to look back at La Danta, 24km away, and think that I had been on top of that 7 hours earlier. In Mayan times, you would have been able to see causeways crossing the countryside and the cities that lie in between.
