Once Proud Sphinxs - Temple of Hibis's by eirekay

Kharga Oasis - Egypt, Al J¿zah Like many Egyptian Temples, the entrance is lined with sphinx. These are much damaged, but the remoteness of the location gave way to imagination. The Temple of Hibis was built in the 6th century BC. It was recently rebuilt. You will see numbers on some of the stones and plumb lines used to align the blocks when they tore down and re-erected. It is not open - a bribe got us in.
