Ayutthaya - Thailand, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Ayutthaya was the capital of Siam for during the 15th and 16th centuries but was ultimately sacked by the Burmese. Center of the remaining structures were more intact then others and where stucco had managed to hold on, some of the original detail of angels and demons was still visible. One of the most striking features was the angles. We almost never saw straight corners - instead very symmetrical zig zag corners were used. The effect must have been extraordinary. Even now, in this state, the precision was impressive!
