The "Stove" at Brenda's Comidora's by eirekay

Carmelita - Guatemala, Petén This type of "stove" is actually very typical in the Peten (northern lowlands) area of Guatemala. We saw it in use at each of the chicalero stations which we camped at during our 6 day trek through the ruins of El Mirador. It is a flat table covered with a steel sheet. A stucco covered rock u shaped frame sits on top with a grill and a griddle. The fire wood is slowly pushed in as it burns down.
