Fort Margherita, North Kuching City's by el2995

Kuching - Malaysia Kuching's Fort Margherita, on the north bank of the Sarawak River, is one of the city's picturesque points of interest. I had heard that there was a museum there, but was told that the fort was currently closed to the public and used for some sort of official government purposes. There is a water taxi landing adjacent to the fort that affords some closer pictures. The picture was taken not far from the Kuching General Wet Market, which is open all day and, in the fish section, can get rather smelly by the early evening.
