A colorful moss and mushroom-covered fallen tree branch spanning a small brook off the trail near Alambique Flat (elevation 1230 feet). Just off the main trail beyond the Alambique Flat trail marker is a bench in a clearing flanked by redwoods; the brook is down the slope to the left of the bench, though the thick mass of fallen forest debris make footing a little bit tricky. The sound of the cool breeze drifting through the branches of the redwoods overhead combined with the gurggling babble of the brook makes this a very peaceful spot to take a rest.
