Maymyo - Burma, Mandalay Maymyo (formerly the colonial British hill station known as May Town) has a decidedly 'frontier town' feel to it, with its numerous colorfully-painted leftover horse carriages a reminder of its British heritage. Maymyo is one of the 'required' day trips from Mandalay, and its elevation not only provides a much-needed break from the heat, but also makes it a prime location for growing produce, flowers and (especially) Arabica coffee beans.
