Good for you! Last year I finally got my own act together, and did my dream trip -- solo, all over Europe, for 4 months -- so if you want any advice or suggestions, feel free to ask away. Every weekday I'm also putting a new picture and a bit of story, travel advice or what-have-you on my site, http://www.whereisliz.com -- you may glean some good ideas from there about cool places to stay, great (cheap) eats, etc. My style of travel is very inexpensive, so you can stretch your euroes!

If there's a chat, I haven't found it yet. There are forums which are more of an ongoing, over time thing.
It's a cool site though, I've taken to watching new slide shows and such of places I haven't been yet over breakfast. It gets the daydreaming for the day kickstarted :-)
So why did you move to TX? Where in Oz are you from?
