Hi

I'm back. A digital camera stolen - with about 75 pics - plus a night in a Peruvian clinic - are not star memories but it was a wonderful holiday all the same. I shall be putting up some stuff about it before long.

Good wishes to you all.

David

Hey David,

Glad you're back safely, shame about the camera, but I look forward to hearing your stories.

Thanks Misty and Gloria

Misty, we spent even more time than expected at Cusco for medical reasons and your advice was very useful to us. What a place!

I'm not too sure how to write here about events as well as places - but I think some of them might be of general interest. Any advice?

Cheers, David

Hey David,

I shouldn't say it but, I told you so... Well not really, but the altitude is a complete shock to the system and your brain can quite figure out what's happening.

You could just write some reports and be a little liberal with the headings, or (I know it's after the fact) but maybe create a journal in the travel logs section. It's not used nearly as much on this site and I'm sure it's great for rambling.

Thanks Misty

In spite of your bit of cheek we actually managed the altitude well enough! It was a stomach ailment that caused a potassium deficiency in my heart and set my machine going.

The suggestions should be helpful.

Cheers, David

David,

I hope you didn't take offence to my comments, no malice was intended, just a joke. I'm glad you're ok and was able to rise above your medical woes.

Take care

No offence taken. I certainly took it as jovial as was my reference to cheek.

Hi David, and welcome back! I, for one, would like to hear more about your (and everyone else's) mishaps. Since these unexpected events befall most of us at one point or another, I think it's a great service to share the particulars and lessons learned, in hopes that it may save some hardship for someone else in the future.

Is there already an established place in the forums for such things? What do you think?

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know I've not forgotten. I've got 5 invisible reports with the text ready on the site, one on the way and one to come.

I'm having problems with photos since my hard disc was replaced, which will end one way or another when a friend returns from holiday and then I'll complete the reports and publish them.

Cheers, David
