The final decision is always left to staff but any particular observation noted here could help staff recognize special contribution to GLOBO if it mentioned here.... Andy is not only the main staff member but also like us a fellow GLOBOtraveller whose own private contributions are most amazing making him around #25 at GLOBO. [That position must be shown in the main list too !] The current programming work he does will make GLOBO an ever better COST-FREE interactive database for serious travellers. He motivated a lot of us, let us recognise him! I would say if more than 20 and/or more than 2/3 of members agree in the next two weeks, this should be seriously considered. NB: This is not for my own benefit, I have never met Andy or any staff members yet though I also live in Munich. Travel reporting must remain independent, international and multi-cultural. I also thought Andy should include his profile in the members list. That will correct the discrepancy in rank shown in the list and rank shown on the member "about me" pages. Andy with 7087 points should be shown as rank 24! I just think that this is Andy's Baby and it would be somewhat strange that he makes himself member of the month eventhough he might be suggested here. As founder of Globosapiens he sure is member of honor of all times. We could grand him this order then :-)))) On the other hand I think it would be a good idea to have him on the general member list, but again that is up to Andy. We are a community and Andy is also a plain member too as well as or "captain" or "webmaster". If some of us feel strong about anything, Andy must consider it. This is our opportunity. I still nominate him for September MoM and now also for PoM. I really appreciate this. However I must agree with Martin. The fact that the members list is not including myself and other rating tools as well don't, indicates my opinion on that topic. I am here to support you guys, offer you solutions for easy publishing and networking among people from all over the world. I am uploading very few content as I do try to make the process off participating more easy instead of using it all the time. This alone disqualifies myself :-) Usually I do only upload content once I feel like I have to try my own "product". For example if I do an update of the picture upload utility I will upload pictures to try if it works and how the user experience is.Martin will agree I guess. You have to try your own restaurant, to be able to judge it better and improve it further. :-) There are so many great members here it would be unfair to steal the show from them. Let me provide the tools and you guys focus on using it. I really apreciate your initiative and do hope for your understanding. Best regards, Andy PS: Awards will be announced Monday 4th of November. Monday 4 November??? I am booked to travel to Marrakech on Monday 5 November. Don't worry; we all make mistakes. More seriously, I can see that it would not make much sense for you to nominate yourself as MoM, in spite of Rudi's helpful suggestion to make it possible. There are masses of references on the private board to show how much we value your services but I remember as a new member asking you a whole lot of questions before recognising your position. Perhaps they have never belonged to any communal club or society.
