Open: Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 bis 18:00, Wednesday until 21:00. Since 1945 it is a zoological research institute and museum of the Leibniz community with roughly 7 million specimens, founded by ornithologist and university professor Alexander Koenig (1858–1940), native of Bonn. Permanent exhibition: "Our Blue Planet - Life in a Network", to show the way life in vast areas is functioning. 1948, Sept 1rst: Convention of the Parliamentary Council of the FRG to establish the Basic Law, also Chancellor Adenauer's first working place, until 1957 those of several Ministries. 1949, May 23rd the Basic Law was public announced. The Museum Koenig is the birthplace of the German Republik.
