I assumed that it was an abseil from the top but i could find no web reference to it anywhere. The Staubach while beautiful and dramatic is not a good neighboour. It makes the land at the base of the cliff very cold and difficult for growing vegetables etc. It can easily kill the unwary with falling stones. It sometimes floods the road nearby but it is a great tourist attraction. Other visitors have written that the best view is from the Wengen direction and probably safest also. Otherwise you can climb near to the stream safely through a tunnel in the rock face.
