Welcome and enjoy this friendly international site. I've done a guide for new members on the faq forum but you can ask any question you may have in that forum.
Where is Basel? I'm afraid I had only heard of the Swiss one. I spent a few days in Belgium 2 years ago and i was very taken with some of your cities.
