29 - In the Camino there are monasteries's by jorgesanchez

Cea - Spain This Order of Cister monastery is in Oseira, but since I could not find it in Globo data (it is just an aldea, or tiny village, with the monastery surrounded by a few houses) I put it under nearby Cea, because the previous name was San Cristovo de Cea. The picture is taken when leaving the monastery next day. I spent the preceding night in the biblioteca, or library (it was very cold!). In the morning, at 7 AM, we (the pilgrims) were invited to participate in the Gregorian chants and the Mass. We were only three pilgrims plus the thirteen monks. That was a privilege. We felt pure when we left the monastery. The monastery was founded in the XII century by the Benedictines, who were adhered to the Order of Cister. Unfortunately, in 1835 the Spanish Government requisitioned all the properties of the Church, and the monastery was pilfered and its most precious treasures were robbed (and vanished forever).
