It has history, culture and beauty (apart from excellent food, tapas and xacoli white wines!). People are very friendly, indeed. I was looking for a shelter (I did not know that there is none in Bilbao) but people, without asking, noticing that I was a pilgrim, gave me advise in the street. There are regular boats from South England (Southampton and Porthmouth, I think) to Bilbao.
