Auroville |

You can get to Auroville from Pondicherry renting a bicycle.
Once there you will receive a more than welcome greeting and will show you around. People living there are from several countries of the world, India, Japan, France, Tibet, and many Spaniards.
First you will visit the Peace Area with the Matrimandir, or meditation hall, with 50 metres of diameter, and then will show you the shop in case you want to buy some books or other souvenirs related with the place. They might invite you to have lunch there (I was invited by the Spanish residents).
Auroville is an ideal place for the whole humankind, with harmony, serenity and peace among its members, and was visited by the Dalai Lama. One of their aims is to achieve humane unity in its diversity.
It is so called because Sri Aurobindo was exiled in the French colony of Pondicherry by the British.
You can apply to live there for a time.
