This is the only (as of Aug 2008) bar/pub near old Khiva, which is open past 9pm. It is located within the premises of Asia Khiva Hotel, but it does welcome non-residents. Its proximity to the pool is fabulous and the personnel at the bar is very friendly. The draft beer is served from delightfully frozen glasses. There are a few other types of alcohol available, but not too much to choose from. Often a local guitarist comes by to sing traditional Uzbek and Russian songs. The owner of the hotels, if when in town, often comes for a drink, too. He speaks Uzbek, Russian and French - a great guy.
