Ayaba Hotel |

The Ayaba Hotel was supposed to be the most luxurious hotel in town, but I would argue! They charged CFA42,000 for a triple room with a balcony. A long, long, very long time ago, it might have been quite a decent option to stay in the anglophone capital of Cameroon. But at the end of 2011, it was a very run down hotel, which however you tried to scrub it, it would still feel unclean. Like the swimming pool - full of dirty water. Brrr.
The bathrooms had all modern amenities, including the very practical bidet, but they could have been cleaned more thoroughly. The sheets seemed clean, though, there was hot water and the views from the balconies were decent.
Their so-so priced restaurant had few dishes on the menu, and the food was mediocre at best. And one had to ask to put the food back on the fire, so it was properly cooked and come to the table hot.
