Willet Holthuysen museum in Amsterdam is a fully furnished 17th century canal house.
The kitchen is in the basement. It has a sink with a handpump. Water from the canal was pumped up and used for household purposes.
On the first floor are the blue drawingroom and diningroom and the ball room. The drawing room is all in blue. It is the only room with a beautifully painted ceiling.
On the second floor is the master bedroom, a huge fourposter double bed, a dressing table and a wash basin.
At the back of the house there is a garden in French classical style.
