Hi Marianne,
Thank you for finding time to read and rate my Ostrava report. It is not the most touristic destination, however the city can attract the attention (if you don´t expect gorgeous postcard views like in Prague).
I haven´t had the chance to see the Trabant sculpture yet, I saw only Petra´s pictures. But I hope to come back one day to Prague and then I am not going to miss it.

And the last but not least - it was good to see you on-line in Globosapiens.

Have a good day,

Rafal

Hi Marianne, hi Rafal,
even in summer it's possible to catch a glimpse of David ?erný's Trabi sculpture from the playground behind the embassy.

Erevan report

Hi Marianne,
thank you for your comment on my Erevan report. I loved that country with its impressive cultural heritage and its grand nature. I wanted to hike and to dissappear into the woods, all on my own.

Hi Marianne,

Sorry for late reply but I had a great time in Czech Republic. I didn`t go to Prague this time as I focused on Moravia this time. And it was worth - Olomouc, Brno, Ostrava and other small towns like Telc, Trebic and others were simply stunning.
And I loved your reports and they helped me with itinerary.

I will try to post some pictures soon, Hope you will like them :)

Have a good evening

dresden

hey, m - no we had visited ( wasted time and a lot of walking ) to visit Pfund's Molkerai and see hundreds of tourists on busses milling around and decided after a long day to head back to our hotel. made a right where the creek with the ducks runs into the elbe and kept on walking.

our feet hurt like hell but it was still a great walk. we try and visit a park most everywhere we go, love the parks in europe.

surprised that dresden is willing to give up some heritage status for another bridge. we were surprised at the (relative) lack of traffic all over the city.

most everything

m - hi - what an amazing trip that must have been. but like most americans i have trouble getting more than a week off at a time. prague was combined with budapest, very typical for visiting americans, open jaw tickets thru vienna.

we actually had ten days in germany, came from nuremberg, left for berlin ( another amazing city ).

sitting here thinking how much you must have seen on the bicycles both touristic and scenic. wow. have a good weekend. n.

the elbe park

thanks for visiting dresden with me. i sure wish we had bicycles when walking along the elbe. we had taken a long train ride into dresden in the morning and then walked for miles through the neustadt in the afternoon. i thought walkng along the river would be a shortcut - wrong. but it was an amazing walk with the flower gardens on the right and the river and alstadt to the left. great city.

Bavaria hilly?

I have entered your GLOBObash suggestion as end of August. We will see if Krys can make it then.

About cycling in Munich, we have hundreds of kilometres of cycle track, the routes along the rivers are very easy, actually downhill on average. Cyclists use the trains, specially set out for storing bicycles, to get to start or end points. "Bayern ticket is €32/day for 6 people. The restaurants and inns are very cheap in the Bavarian countryside, best prices in west EU! In preparation of my Comino cycle (haha?) I will be doing stages between Budapest and Munich mostly along the Danube (next summer) as training. Here are some route suggestions: http://www.fahrradreisen.de/radwege/b15.htm
