The Botanic Gardens are part Delft University. As this is a technical univesity emphasis is on plants that can be used in industry. Two interesting walks lead past some of the highlights.
The Van Iterson theme walk shows plants that are used in industry, used in coatings for self-cleaning windows, or used as UV protections. These are just a few examples.
The Henri d'Acquet walk leads past all the plants that VOC traders (Dutch East Indian Company) brought back from the east. Plants such as nutmeg, pepper, cloves and many more.
