Lydon's Lodge is right in the centre of Cong, a small town on the Cong river. It is right after the bridge when coming from Leenaune but the Circular Road is one-way traffic. Continue straight on until you come to the stone cross in the middle of the road, turn right into Abbey Street. Its continuation is Circular Road. Ample parking ispace is in front of the hotel.
The rooms are spacious enough, comfortable and very complete. It is all there extra pillow, pretty duvet covers, complementary tea and coffee and TV with four channels (good reception).
Fruity homemade jam made up for an otherwise scanty breakfast. Although advertised, the Lydon pub downstairs no longer serves pub meals.
The asking prices was €50 p.p.(2007), which is definitely too much. We still hestitated when the price was lowered to €40, which resulted into €35 p.p. This is good price for the room.
