After leaving Scarborough drive along to the Windward Road until you meet Belle Garden. As the car climbs the steep hill you can see the signs to the Great house. You turn left and travel inland. The Richmond Great House dates back to 1776, when it was a main plantation house of the area, now restored it’s a very authentic lodge. Set high in the hills it has a wonderful panoramic view of the surrounding vegetation. It isn’t air conditioned but its location has wonderful cooling sea breezes. The décor has an old colonial feels mixed together with a large collection of African art.
