I was going to send a comment on your Lisboa-article, Marie-Ange, but I failed. So, allow me to write it in your guestbook:
When I was in Lisboa in June 2001 I had a very good time. Two things of my own experiences there I'd like to add to your article: I went almost every night to a little Fado bar in the old town, where I was enjoying the songs of a beautiful young singer. Her songs were so sad, that I got this typical and dangerous mood called Saudade (untranslatable Portuguese for a nostalgic feeling).
I was also enjoying a trip to Sintra, the former residence of the Portuguese kings, in the forrests north of Lisboa. The Royal palace has a very particular architecture, the countryside is beautfiful, and there is a charming little hotel which is supposed to be the oldest hotel of the Iberian peninsular. For fans of Roman Polanski's "The 9th Gate": some scenes of the film were shot in Sintra.
Adeus, Stefan
