Ancient Italy Pt. II
Posted: 2006-09-09 09:35 AM
The locals at the cafes definitely looked at me funny when I would order 3 OJs in a row and pound them down. Sometimes I got them for as little as 2 euro, other times as much as 6 per glass! Anyhow, it was best outside of Pompeii where there was a stand selling hugenormous glasses for cheap.
If you find yourself going back to Rome, I found a place that had the best pizza in Italy in my opinion. I primarily ate pizza and ice cream (gelato) so I can tell you that my evaluation is not without merit.
Hope all is well in your world.

Ancient Italy

Aye carumba, am I ever late with this reply. After my Italy trip I didn't return much to Globosapiens and here I am checking it for ole time sake when I came upon your reply a full 7 months after the fact.
I did have a slide show on line for a while of my trip, but I have since taken it down. Anyhow, my trip was fab and I enjoyed reading your Italy journal on the airplane as I had printed it up.
I had quite an adventure between former and current girlfriends who I met there, getting literally lost in the wilderness in Assisi, experiencing the glory of Naples in the rain and trash filled streets at midnight, and experiencing the glory and granduer of Pompei and the Vesuviun coast for New Year's Eve. I spent a little more money than I would have liked but you can chalk it up to laziness with my initial hotel selections, and an over indulgence in wine and fresh OJ. There are worse things on which to to squander one's money. ...well out of room here

Hi Liz,
I took a look at your website 'where is liz'. Thanks I found some helpful tips. I wish I had the patience to be that organized - but at least I will have not forgotten some of the crutials for travel. You've been a great help.

Hello Liz. Glad to see you in Globo. Are you in California or travelling?
When you will write another first class report like Asissi in Italy?

Liz,
It's always nice to share personal information, as it makes us closer as virtual friends. But I was so very glad to read your follow up message and to know that you mother, three years on, is doing better.
All the best

Dear Liz.
I am happy to learn that your mama is all right (this is good for your soul) and that you are ready to travel around the world. For me travelling around the world in the past changed my life.
Take into account that you have a friend in Madrid, in case you come to Spain I will consider you a Queen.
Best wishes
Jesus
