Hi James,
thank you for your comment. Yes, the name is still new and didn't make its way. Most people talk of Burma or Birma. It is a wonderful country.People are friendly and smilimg.

I got the joke

Hi James,
I did get the joke ;)
My waiting with the uploads is really about limiting my activity. I would not intend to upload six or seven reports a month again. I am already pushing my luck with so many photo uploads a day... :)
Best regards

Xi'an reporting
Posted: 2009-08-18 02:04 PM
Hi James,
Many thanks for your colourful comment on the report! Yes, it seems I manged to publish mine first. But I am really curious what you will say! Uh, by the way, I have a few other PRC reports in the waiting... I did not want to publish all at once, to avoid inundating members with so much material...
I will post them in the coming weeks.
Kind regards
Krys

In PRC...

Hi James!
Yes, my holiday in People's Rep of China is not free from challenges. But, hey, it might have been boring otherwise. Not a chance for the eclipse in Shanghai, rain in Xi'an and cancelled leg for Tibet. However, it is an experience. I am surprised and hmm... somewhat disappointed with China. After 5,000 years of fascinating history, the nation appears to be giving in to Western influences, and not the best ones, I'm afraid...
Oh, well... I'm in Chengdu now, in the great Sichuan province (loving food here!!) and tomorrow I'm off to see the Giant Panda. Hopefully, this will improve my mood slightly ;)
Kind regards

Beijing et al

Hi James,
I read your travel log from China. It is great! I was intrigued with the entry about the Summer Palace in Beijing, and wondered how much time I should dedicate to visit it. I realise that it is a complex of a considerable size, but would 2-3 of hours be pushing it as too short?
I can see that you moved around using buses. Is metro not a good option at all?
Kindest regards
Krys
