Hi Carol!
Posted: 2005-04-25 09:49 PM
Good Morning! Thanks for reading my report!
well I could right another one, only about:
"Travelling with children" - That time my son Gabriel was not even two years old! Unfortunally after a couple of days he became sick and we suspected the food...
Nearby in HILTON Dahab we found a very friendly doctor englishspeaking of course: after a checkup we got medizine directly from him: dehydration as diagnosis. Gabriel was drinking a lot but may not enough, even trying to keep him in the shade as much as possible.
For kids the beach in Dahab is not very spectacular, a bit out there are some sandy places but no shade at all...
so may a solution: stay at hilton wich is around EUR 500 incl breakfast and flight (per week) they have a private beach there is you planning to go in summer. During winter or colder month stay at Dahab (about three or four KM from Hilton)
For further questions just contact me!!!
Regards from Frankfurt

Thank you - Chiang Mai is wonderful!

Hi Carol,
Thank you for reading the "Driving around Thailand" report based upon Chiang Mai and for leaving your compliments alongside it! I have not tried green tea in Northern Thailand. The Thai's do drink nam cha - but always refuse to drink our English Breakfast Teas!
I just returned from Thailand again a couple weeks ago. This time I drove along the western coast from Trang to Ranong over a long weekend. That route was fascinating following the tsunami!
Thanks so much for reading and indeed rating my reports!
Cheers, Brit

Hi Carol
Thanks for the comment. If you have a photo of Ullapool, it would come up in the destination guide!
Best wishes, David

Hi Carol, I am so happy that you checked out the balloon photos. I had such a great time at the "Fiesta". It's difficult to capture the actual size of the balloons in a small photo. They are huge, and the roaring flames that heat the air inside the balloons is very exciting to watch. And there are so many of them!
I am always grateful when someone from the other side of the planet writes to me. I am still impressed with the technology. Thanks for taking the time to let me know your appreciation.

I love the desert and how you describe it your report - "stark contrast to the barren beauty of the rocky desert behind and the glimpses of blue sea" - thats fantastic!

Thanks so much for your entry into my guestbook. Congratulations on publishing your first two reports on Globo. The first articles are the worst when it comes to plucking up the courage to write. You then soon learn that here on GLOBOsapiens there are some 9 sections to try and complete from Introduction, through Accommodations and Restaurants etc. Each section completed has the space for a photograph, so if you complete all 9 sections with 9 photographs then you usually get a higher rating. The five star rating is not a breakdown of all the factors but an overall impression. Some reports on Globo are too full and so boring that they have a yawn factor built in! Others short and sweet but convey vital traveller information.
I agree with your overall impression of Mombassa. Run down, dusty, full of pot holes but vibrant are my everlasting reflections. Cape Town is special – it passes my “I could live here” test. It has changed very much over the past 20 years and I love the Cape wines. The wines are to Cape Town what Black Sheep is to Masham!
So keep the reports coming and remember to take loads of pictures on your travels, to keep us all interested.
Cheers, Brit.

Hi Carol,
I enjoyed your comment about Masham and endorse your sentiments about the great pubs and breweries there - proper real ale indeed!
Welcome to Globosapiens by the way. I do hope that you will join in - submit your pictures and perhaps write a few reports - we are quite a friendly bunch (so I am told)....enjoy your membership!
Cheers Brit!
