New places :-)
Posted: 2006-10-09 07:19 PM
Jorge, great to see you are uploading to the new remote places we created recently at GLOBO. Most of the places you asked me to research while you were on the road were applied and accepted. See the list at the bottom of my "activities" file. If you have any pictures for these, even if already uploaded to nearest places, it would be great and motivating to staff and all members. Thanks to staff and thanks to you!

Jorge,
Thank you for your explanation regarding the Buddha in Nirvana. The caves were so beautiful and touching! Your wonderful explanation made them more so.
Interesting you should mention your friend naming her daughter Ajanta. When we were touring the caves, my daughter mentioned that Ellora wuld be a lovely name.
Thanks!

Buddha in Nirvana
Posted: 2006-10-07 11:40 AM
Jorge,
I understand you studied as a Monk. In Ajanta, India we saw the most beautiful carving of Buddha in Nirvana. The face on this Buddha is so serene and moving. I have blown the photo up and have it in my office. I am wondering if you can tell me what the "Nirvana" phase of Buddha is? The Buddha appears to be sleeping, but the face is just amazing. I have a photo posted - if you search pictures for Buddha, you should be able to see it. I would appreciate anything you could tell me about this posture.
Thanks!

hola~~
i read from your travel log that you are flying off on your next adventure. mmmm...... cant wait to see more of your pics and stories!
btw... as for me.. due to the serious haze problem in SE Asia, i wont do any short trips there. However, I have booked on a 10 day trip to China (ie Beijing and Huashan and Xi'an) in December. Yes... do keep in touch and who knows our paths will cross! Will send you a postcard from my next destination!

Russia and Georgia Is Closed?
Posted: 2006-10-06 08:55 AM
I believe it's been closed for a while. The Russian's think the Georgians are 'farmers', (their word for not smart).
