Apart from the commonly recognised as rogue states like N.Korea, where millions of people starve to death, almost all countries prefer to spend money on many different 'objectives' rather than taking care of the elderly, sick, poor, etc. The UK is not immune to this syndrome, and having been to many countries, I have seen extreme poverty everywhere, except perhaps Norway and Switzerland... And my recent trip to China, ouch!
