Nurnberg - Germany, Bayern Albrecht Durer (1471-1528), Northern Europe's most famous Renaissance artist, was a nearly lifelong resident of Nurnberg. He was famous for his prints from original woodcarvings, as well as sacred and secular art particularly animals and self portraits. He was also knowledgeable in mathematics particularly as it applied to human and animal art, geography, printing, and of course business management. He lived and worked in this house for many years and the museum devoted to his life is considered one of the most accurate portrayals of upper class life in the early 16th C.
