Terezin - Czech Republic The interior of the prison block contained triple level undivided wooden bunks imaged here covered with filthy straw mattresses pictured. Near the end of the war, hundreds of inmates occupied a single room which had one table and one toilet. The rampant epidemics that killed so many near the end of the war are easily explained by the living conditions imposed by the Nazis.
