Topkapi Palace - View from the First Courtyard's by siffer

Istanbul - Turkey, Istanbul The 300 yard first courtyard is today a park with views overlooking the Bosphorus and Asian side of Istanbul. In the Ottoman period it was used as a marketplace and lined by a mint, hospital, bakery, and other functional buildings. Special military units were also housed here.
