I had a long weeend in front of me... what am I to do? Where am I to go? I decided to go to EDSA and board whichever provincial bus passes by first.
Lipa town
My quest for adventure turned into a day trip of three Batangas towns - Lipa, Lemery, and Taal. Visited these three places for the firmst time. Met gorgeous people and had a great time!
Favourite spots:
The beach at nonong Casto
Taal town was picturesque! Spanish colonial homes, museums, and of course really friendly people. I also visited the beach at Nonong Casto in Lemery. It was quiet. A real surpise becasue it was a holiday weekend. Anyway, I liked it because I prefer it quiet. The beach was not very beautiful. The sand was gray and the water was not very clear.
What's really great:
Taal Basilica
I especially liked my visit to the town of Taal. The Taal Basilica was magnificent!
Sights:
Batangas has a lot to offer in terms of sight seeing.
Taal volcano, an active volcano that is in the middle of the lake. One can enjoy its beauty from affar from Tagaytay or hire a boat that goes to the island crater and hike up the slopes.
The Taal Basilica is definite must see.
Other recommendations:
There are a lot a lot of beaches in Batangas. Nasugbu, Anilao, San Juan, Matabungkay, all of which are easily accesible by bus or jeepney.
Mabuhay and Welcome to GLOBO Emcee. Anice first report of an area I just visited a few months ago. The beach at Lemery is near the river mouth so sometimes the water isnt good and beach-sand grey because its volcanic sand, even black in parts! Batangas Province is zoned to grow as an industrial hub of Luzon and the Phillipines I was told.
