This sanctuary is located in Forest Glen and is an ideal day trip from Brisbane or you can visit it when you pass by. Why visiting a sanctuary, well here you can see endangered species and some animals that you rarely find in the wild. One of them is a Koala, you can see them in the wild, but you will not always find them sleeping in the tree. The park is 24 hectare big and you can walk among the animals. It's a nice experience to see some wildlife.

Favourite spots: |
One of my favourite spots is the wildlife viewing area where you can walk among Kangaroos and other animals from Australia. We could go really close to them and even feed and touch them. And something the kids will love is having their photo taken with a real Koala.

What's really great: |
It was for us a relaxing time after a long bus ride and before we had to go in the bus again. But it was the first and only time I saw Koalas in Australia. I missed them in Fraser Island and Magnetic Island where some people saw them in the trees, but I always missed them. Off course that is my own fault, but here at least I had the chance.

Sights: |
Don't miss the special areas where you can wonder around with the animals.
And off course the wombat is also there.

Accommodations: |
Our Accommodation was in Surfers Paradise, because we visited this sanctuary on our way to there.

|
Restaurants: |
There is a small restaurant where you can eat or have a snack.

Other recommendations: |
In the Koala viewing area, where you can have your picture taken, you get also some more explanation about the Koalas, how they life in the wild. That they feed for almost 1.5 hour and sleep then for 22 hour to digest the eucalyptus leaves. What a life do these creatures have, just eating and sleeping.
