Getting to Bryce Canyon National Park the long way. First to Rachel, Nevada & Area 51 then we left Bryce going though Zion National Park. You'll learn about UFO's and wonderful mountain parks.

We took a detour to get to get to Bryce Canyon because when I was 16 I saw a UFO that was larger than the moon.

It was a glowing gold color and it was flying so low it covered the moon as it passed by it. When it got to the water tower it didn't come out the other side. It must have made a 45 angel turn. When I got home my mother phoned the airport, (in Lethbridge, Alberta), and they said they had seen a blip on their radar but couldn't identify it .

One night when we lived in Edmonton, Alberta we were driving home from a movie. We heard the announcer say that a UFO had been circling the city for 6 hours. When we got home my husband went into the house and got his binoculars.

We both could see an object that looked like a planet but is was changing colors from green to blue to gold to pink and then back to blue.

I wanted to see where they were hiding the UFO's.

Rachel is named for Rachel Jones who was the first baby born here. You can see her memorial in the small cemetary.

In November 1989,a Las Vegas resident, (Bob Lazar), went on a Las Vegas TV show and said that he had worked with alien spacecraft at Papoose Lake.

The lake is in the Nellis Range about 35 miles south of Rachel, Nevada. He said that he saw nine flying saucers in a hanger that was built on hillside. He had worked as a scientist, (reverse engineer), the propulsion system of one of the UFO's.

In Rachel our room was in an old trailer. That wasn't very clean so I sat in a chair all night.

I was happy to see the sun coming up.

What's really great:

This is site that UFO watchers was the Black Mailbox, which is rancher Steve Medlin's mailbox and the only landmark along the lonely stretch of highway in the Tikaboo Valley.

Farther down the highway is the Rachel Bar and Grill in Rachel, Nevada. Whether or not you believe in UFOs one thing is certain the UFO watchers are real and are seen here often. The population is 98 people.

Most people to the Little A'Le'Inn where they buy souvenirs and listen to Joe Travis talk about the New World Order. This is where we stayed for one night.

Then we went to see Area 51. Area 51is a secret Air Force test facility, and in the 1980's and 1990's there have been many sightings of unidentified objects near the base. Even today visitors and locals see strange lights in the night sky while driving down the highway.

We didn't see any!

All we could see was a tall tower, a few buildings and two run ways.

Then we left to drive a long way....

Zion National Park, Utah was once known as Mukuntuweap National Monument. The Mormon settlers wanted to name it Zion, (it means a place of refuge to them and Israel to most of us).

We stayed at the Novel House. It is a small hotel that has 10 rooms. This is a B & B so we had breakfast every morning at the hotel

In the morning after breakfast we went to see the Rosenbruch Wild Museum. We watched a video that showed us the wild life that lived in the park. The collection was of the fossils that had been found in the rocks. We then walked through the World’s largest bug collection.

We went to see the Kolob Arch, and natural arch that is 95 meters long. We went into a cavern to see the natural sculptures, made from dolomite marble on the floor, gypsum flower forms, and stalactites that look like crystal dripping down from the top of the cave.

Our last stop was at the Temple Cap.

We stated at the Little A'Le'Inn Motel for one night. There was no where else to stay. We had all of our meals here because there was no where else to eat. They serve a lot of Alien Burgers here!

In Zion National Park, Utah we stayed at the Novel House. It is a small hotel that has 10 rooms. Each room is named after a famous author. This is a B & B so we had breakfast every morning at the hotel. We paid $130.00 USD per night.

We stayed at the Bryce Canyon Inn , (has 18 cabins). They were very nice. Each one is named after an author. We stayed in the
Mark Twain room. The picture is the room we stayed it.

When we are driving long distances we eat at Truck Stops because the truckers know the best places to eat.

I also keep a cooler full of soda pop, bottle water, bread, cheese and luncheon meats.

When you are driving a lot or in the mountains you are so tired you don't do to much at night but eat and go to sleep.

It only took us ½ to reach Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah.

There are three roads, (blue, green and red), through the canyon. We took the green one because it is the only one that circles the park. I am use to tall mountains, (the Rockies), but these were very, (most are over 2000 meters). There isn’t a lot of water available, so I suggest you buy some bottled water, at the last Gas Station, you fill up your car with gas.

At the eastern part of the park is Sun Rise Point. It looks down on a natural amphitheater.

When we had finished taking pictures it was time for lunch, so we went to the Visitor’s Center, and they told us about a B & B that served sandwiches and salads for lunch.

A long the way we saw quite a few campsites. All of them were taken.

We went back to the asked the lady at Visitors Information to help us find a place to stay.

In Racel we ate all our meals at the Little A'Le'Inn" Motel.

In Zion National Park we had breakfast every morning at the Novel House. We had lunch at Scaldonis Italian Restaurant before we left the park.

Bryce Canyon Inn we had breakfast there every morning

I think going to Area 51 was not worth it. If we could have had a tour it would have been.

I loved seeing both Bruce Canyon and Zion National Park if you have a chance to see them it's worth it for the beauty and the wonderful feeling of the fresh air.

The gas stations are far apart so make sure you fill up when your car is half full. Keep flares and a flashlight in your car in case it breaks down. Set a flare off if you can't change a tire because they are seen from a long way off. Maybe an Alien will come and rescue you. Then you will believe what I saw!!!

Always carry food and water in your car.

It's warm in the mountains during the day but very cold at night.
Take the appropriate clothing with you.

What an interesting perspective on this beautiful area! It is too bad that you were unable to spend a greater amount of time in the area.
