Salsa in Colombia
Introduction
In Colombia isn't often to call clubs the salsa places. We call if often salsotecas and they are some different as others clubs outside Colombia. It varyies for small places for few people (10 to 30 tables more or less) or in the big cases larger as 60 tables. Is often to find good salsa music, but you can get something as specialized sites for those who doesn't wants the same salsa they hear on the popular radio. Many places ( I think the most) use to feature the contemporary salsa music (that one you can hear on the radio), of course, those places tends to have more people than the other ones that use to feature that other latin music that isn't very widespread by the radio or the media. For those who wants to hear some of that not enough widespread music I recommend strongly go to Taberna Latina (in Cali) or Son Salom? (in Bogota).

In other places is common to mix salsa with merengues, vallenatos and other music

How nice to see a report on Colombia. I have two friends there and they left a wonderful book about the country for our Spanish speaking circle in Bradford when they went home.

Very informative with brilliant pictures. Some members might rate lower because of too personal photos, but I appreciate such a report for a country that is so difficult to visit. I hope that travellers see its beauty and see that people live and survive there in really a wonderful natural part of the world.
