We decided to stop in Hervey Bay overnight. Boat Harbour Dr., the “main” street, took us directly to the Boat harbour, where we rented a camping site. It was quiet and not overly crowded. The facilities were clean and people courteous. Across from the camping ground was a fish shop, to our delight, which displayed a giant prawn on the roof.

Favourite spots: |
This town although not overly big, had plenty to offer. Talking a drive on the Esplanade, we were pleasantly surprised to discover one of the most beautiful beach on the Golden Coast.

What's really great: |
The Botanical Gardens situated on Elizabeth Dr, were also pleasant to visit. We fed some ducks and walked the many paths which includes an aboriginal section hosting many intricate designs and sculptures.

Sights: |
The best activities in Hervey Bay is all beach related. Therefore, long walks on the white sandy beach, sailing and swimming is a must.
