Great place to go in the middle of the day. Doesn't really have the white sands, but hardly anyone around. The waves can get pretty good for some boogy boarding, but not really ideal for surfing. I'm told Toco is the place to go for surfing in Trinidad.

Favourite spots: |
The shark and bake shack and bar on the beach are the only things around. Pretty small place.

What's really great: |
The fact that there weren't many people around. AND TRY THE SHARK AND BAKE!
|
|
Sights: |
The Trinidadian Rainforest and Manzanilla! It's amazing, and so desolate.

|
Accommodations: |
Port of Spain is the nearest area for accomodations. They have a Hilton if you're looking for a little more class, but there are better deals. Be sure to visit before getting a room. Some places are pretty shady and look totally different on the brochure!

Nightlife: |
Didn't go to any. Not really a place you want to wander around if you don't know your way.

|
Hangouts: |
Again, I was more into the outdoor stuff. But Maracas has a nice bar on the beach!
|
|
Restaurants: |
Tones of chinese restaurants. I know it sounds weird for a carabien place, but I had the best chinese food in my life in a plaza in Valsayan

Other recommendations: |
The tar pits are ok, but not necessarily the big highlight of the Island. However, I must confess, there is a diamond in the rough I was going to keep to myself. All I can say is, Blanchiseuse.
