Matagalpa is a city nestled in the mountains, with a refreshing, cool climate in Northern Nicaragua, 132 kilometers from the capital, Managua. There is remarkably diverse vegetation and wildlife
|
Matagalpa offers a rich diversity of activities that are both entertaining and educational, at the same time learn Spanish at the Spanish School Matagalpa and living with a Matagalpan Family. You can visit coffee plantations (Ruta del café) to learn about the production process, the drying and toasting of “grano de oro.” Besides the nature reserves and farms, the city of Matagalpa itself is a great place to explore. The centre of town has two major commercial avenues and several banks. Nearby are the north and south markets, and surrounding the city are a number of residential neighbourhoods. Given the well-organized city planning, it´s possible to walk from one side of town to the other in about thirty minutes. Of course, we can´t forget the local residents of Matagalpa. They are very friendly and hard-working and when you walk down the streets here, you will see a lot of smiles. Come and visit this beautiful place!
