A fun little town made for foodies and outdoorsy type alike! Nestled in the middle of California, close to beautiful spots like Carmel, Big Sur and Pinnacles Natl. Park. It is perfect for beach, and mountains alike.

Monterey was a wonderful time. It is small shops and wonderful food set in a breath-taking landscape. Hiking, surfing, scuba, sailing and golfing are just a few of the wonderous things you can do in this small town.

Favourite spots: |
Point Lobos National Reserve. Wonderful hikes along beach and cliffs.
The Bay its self. Home to amazing wildlife and the best spot (so I hear for some Scuba).
Wine my Heart. Wonderful wine shoppe with kind owners who treat each person like a part of the family.

What's really great: |
The hikes, and watching the sun rise as I would drive along HWY 1.
The Laguna Seca Speedway is always a good time, if you are into that sort of thing. My favorite thing was to have a picnic on the beach with cheese and Wine. A nice california red paired with a cheese from The Cheese Shoppe.

Sights: |
Big Sur, All of it. Do the entire drive. Julia Pfifer state park is gorgeous, but really so is the entire thing.
|
|
Restaurants: |
The Breakfast Shop in Seaside for your breakfast. Large helpings for a smaller price. Real Maple syrup and many specialty plates. If you prefer something smaller for the start of your day, Plumes on Alvarado is a safe bet.
Lunch must be at Companos in Pacific Grove, try to avoid the military rush, 11am-1230pm.
