Our Programs
Teaching English:
We will provide you with training to enable you to teach English in Nepal. The system of teaching is different here so you will be taught local teaching methods. The schoolchildren will be between 9 and 15 years of age and have a basic level of English. You will also be engaged to liaise with teachers of the school, to assist them with their teaching practice and conversational English, developing their skills for the future. You will have the chance to live with a Nepali family near the school. You will teach for about 3 to 4 hours each day, 6 days a week (Saturday is the day off). You will also be involved in an informal education program, teaching in community youth clubs or a women’s group for 1 to 2 hours a day.

Environmental Work:
We will provide you with the training to enable you to teach environmental education in a village school and in the village community. You will have the chance to live with a Nepali family near the school, and you will teach environmental education for about 2 to 3 hours a day, 6 days a week (Saturday is the day off). You will also be involved in sharing your ideas, skills and knowledge about environmental issues with local NGOs (non-governmental organizations), with youth clubs or women’s groups. You will set up groups within the school and groups of people within the local community to focus on environmental work while you are here and to maintain the work after you have gone. Through Alliance Nepal we offer a number of volunteer programs which include teaching at a local school, raising awareness on issues such as the environment, sanitation & health care. We believe in providing volunteers with the opportunity to experience and learn about Nepali culture first hand through language classes and home stays.

Accommodations: |
Alliance Nepal manages room/food for volunteer. In most of the cases, volunteer stay with host family where we manage a separate room and Nepali food three times a day.
Alliance Nepal maintains staffs, office and many more . Most of our partner schools are located within 10 miles periphery of our office in Pokhara enabling us to meet our volunteers frequently and whenever needed. Volunteer will also have 24/7 access to our office and mobile number of our coordinators. Moreover, head of the school serves as a local contact person for volunteers. Our staffs also visit volunteers in each 1-2 week interval as a part of the program.
