From 1982 I have to'd and fro'd between NYC and London for various reasons (usually work related). Tried living there for a while, and although I love the place...if I'm honest...I cant really take the pace. But this wont and hasn't stopped me from making return visits (and actually due one quite soon)

Favourite spots: |
The Met (both the museum and the opera), G. Village, Central Park (by daylight), Original Ray's Pizza By the Slice (if its still there), Basket Ball at Madison Sq Garden, the corner of 7th and 22nd (personal), and a whole lot more.

What's really great: |
I was pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of the City. Having only a selection of movies and assorted not-so-good programmes on the tele to base my expectations on (not recomended) I wanted to see for myself 'wot all the fus was about'. But as in all the places I have been to, its the 'folk' that make it for you. Anything else is just landscape.

Sights: |
NYC from the other side of the Brooklyn Bridge, The Stanton Island Ferry in the afternoon, Ellis Island and more.

Other recommendations: |
The next time I go, I will be paying my respects to the Twin Towers victims. nuff' said.
