Piriapolis, Uruguay is a beautiful place to visit. I am a 13 year old Uruguayan and proud of it. Just because im Uruguayan doesn't mean I'm just saying it's beautiful. when I say it's beautiful I mean it.

Piriapolis is a small beach resort that caters to mainly Argentinian and the Uruguayans who live there. The boardwalk views and amazing beach (especially during the sunset), and across from it are stores, shops, malls, entertainment areas, arcades (that are in English which makes me happy cause I live in the U.S.), a McDonalds, a casino (Hotel Argentino), and sometimes festivals! On the beach, there are banana boats, futball games, tents, and sme games like shuffleboard. It is also a hot place, and it doesnt snow there. Everyone in Uruguay are so nice and friendly. On that note, I can also say Uruguay has a low risk crime level so there is no worrying about crimes. If there were crimes that happen, they would usually be minor, but there really are no crimes.

Favourite spots: |
My house/my grandparents house is my favorite spot personally. But, if I had to choose, it would be the beach or when I climb or take a ride up to the San Antonio statue. On the hill, t heir lives a huge place where Saint Anthony is and you can go in and take a picture. There are also two shops up there. The hill over looks a beautiful scenery. On my computer when I wanted to change my background, I saw a beautiful picture that came with the picture but then I rememebered I took that picture last year in 2008. The beach is beautiful too. Sometimes, if you look closely you could see fish jump out of the water!!!!

I loved everything generally. The people are nice and friendly, the ice cream is amazing, and Uruguay has the night life. Many people have dinner at 1, then maybe take a little nap, and for the night the town is lit up and so are the people. Many people go to the stores or casinos at night in the town or they might go to the beach and BBQ sausages and stuff.

Pan de Azucar - taken from my porch

To the north of the town is the Pan de Azucar which is a very short ride (by car) or a very long walk. Pan de Azucar is a granite hill which is the third largest hill in Uruguay. On the slopes is a small zoo, there also is a nice trrail to the top of the hill. At the top of the hill there is a cross! The Castillo Piria which has turned into a museum is also nearby the Pan de Azucar.

There are a few hotels in Piriapolis, considiring its a small but beautiful town. In Uruguay (I think by Montevideo, the capital), they have a English/American speaking hotel because more and more people are coming to live in Uruguay because its relativly inexpensive!!
