A warm welcome from all the hotel staff and a really appreciated location in the center of the city and however away from the busy and noisy activity of the Alameda (O'Higgins Blvd)

This hotel is located in Calle Londres, 49 behind one of the oldest churches in Santiago named San Francisco. This is a peaceful curved street away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Santiago with an old pavement but which was once a frightful place when Pinochet's opponents were taken to an building opposite the hotel where many of them were tortured to death. José Antonio Fernández is the owner.
This hotel provides unexpensive prices including breakfast and quite comfortable rooms. During my 2-week stay, lots of foreign travellers spent a few days at the hotl among whom American and Chinese visitors.
In addition the hotel is an old Renaissance-styled building built early in the twentieth century (1925)

Favourite spots: |
What I love in the city of Santiago is the skyline of the Andes so beautiful seen from the Santa Lucia Hill. Same views are also provided in San Cristobal Park.
But there are some other interesting spots such as Valparaiso and Viña del Mar that I love too.

What I specially like in Chile is the kindness of most people there and the pleasure you may have discussing with them especially if you speak their language.
