This is a fun little university town located 45 minutes via train north of Stockholm. Especially if you go during school season, there will be some function or HUGE party nearly every weekend. Lot of fun theme parties, bars, discos, whatever you want if you are in the party scene. A beautiful river flows right through downtown with coffee shops, pubs, restaurant lining the banks. It is pretty slow during the day but people seem to come out of the woodwork at night.

Favourite spots: |
Walking along the river in the middle of town is an easy way to kill several hours. Stop off at the little stores and soak up the smells of fresh coffee brewing. This picture is from the Botanical Gardens just outside Uppsala. Great way to spend an afternoon. Both historical and a nature reserve.

What's really great: |
Decent shopping here. Because it is a university town (hence, little money!), there are always sales and more inexpensive but sharp clothing around the area.
|
|
Accommodations: |
A little more expensive hotels here. If you are a student, there are student rates for perspective students to the Unversity.

Nightlife: |
Everywhere!

|
Hangouts: |
Everywhere! Some beer is brewed in this area so try the local brews.
